Welcome to CardGauge ("we," "us," or "our"). CardGauge is a card collecting and card shop platform. This policy covers all three of our addresses:
Most of CardGauge is free to use; some features are available through paid subscriptions.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using CardGauge, you agree to the practices described here.
π‘ Short version: We use cookies and standard third-party tools β Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network, the TikTok and Meta advertising pixels, Stripe, Supabase and Google AdSense. We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
πͺ Running a card shop? CardGauge Business holds your shop's commercial records β inventory, costs, asking prices and sales. That is different from a collector's account, and it has its own section further down. The short version: your shop's data belongs to your shop, only your staff can see it, and you can export all of it at any time.
When you sign up for CardGauge, we may collect:
CardGauge uses one-time codes sent to your email address to sign you in. We do not ask for or store passwords.
When you visit CardGauge, standard web technologies automatically collect:
When you use our AI card scanner, images are sent securely to our backend for identification and are not kept after processing. Images are never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
There is one deliberate exception. In CardGauge Business, marking a break spot as verified saves a copy of that card's image into the break record on purpose, so the record of what a customer received survives even if the card is later edited or removed from inventory. Those images are visible only to that shop's staff and are deleted when the break is deleted.
You can ask for a price alert on a single card by leaving an email address, without creating an account. We store that address, the card it relates to, and the price at the time, so we can tell you when it moves. Nothing else. There is a one-click unsubscribe in every alert, and unsubscribing deletes the watch.
If you submit a card show to our listings, we store what you send us about the event β its name, venue, address, date, times, admission, website and social links β and a contact email or organiser name if you provide one. Event details are published; a contact email is used only to reach you about that listing and is not published or added to any mailing list.
Paid subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Card numbers and payment details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on CardGauge's servers. We retain only the subscription status and the identifiers Stripe gives us so we know what you have access to.
CardGauge Business is the shop and breaker tool. It holds information about your business rather than about you personally, and we treat it differently.
Your shop's data is yours. We do not sell it, share it with other shops, use it to advertise to you, or publish it in any form β aggregated, anonymised or otherwise. It exists so your shop can run, and for no other purpose.
Only people you have invited to your shop. Access is enforced by the database itself, not just by what the screen shows β one shop cannot read, edit or delete another shop's inventory, sales or breaks, and neither can a signed-out visitor.
Everyone you invite as staff can see the shop's full inventory, sales and breaks, and can add, edit and sell cards. There are no partial permission levels at this time. Only invite people you would trust with the shop's books.
If you type your customers' names or handles into break spots, that information is stored in your shop's break records and is visible to your staff. You are responsible for what you enter about your own customers, and for telling them if you need to.
Export CSV is always available β including after a free trial ends and after a subscription lapses. Your inventory, costs, prices, condition and locations download as a standard spreadsheet file. You are never locked out of your own records to make you pay.
You can remove individual cards, clear your inventory, or ask us to delete your shop entirely. Ask by email and we will delete the shop, its inventory, its breaks and its sales records within 30 days, and confirm when it is done.
If a subscription lapses, we keep your shop's data rather than deleting it, so nothing is lost if you come back. If you would rather it were deleted, ask and we will delete it.
Cards you scan are identified using an AI vision service and priced using completed marketplace sales data from thecardapi.com. The card image is used to identify the card and is not retained by those services for their own purposes. Prices are a guide, not an appraisal.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or share shop data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
All third-party service providers are required to handle data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Data is stored with Supabase and protected by row-level security, which means access rules are enforced by the database itself rather than only by the website. Shop data is scoped to that shop's staff. Connections are encrypted in transit.
We keep account and shop data for as long as the account or shop exists. If you ask us to delete it, we do so within 30 days. Anonymous usage statistics β counts of scans and page views with no personal or shop information attached β may be retained afterwards.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affected your data, we would tell you.
You have the right to:

CardGauge Business is intended for businesses and is not directed at children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of CardGauge after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
These Terms govern your use of CardGauge, including www.cardgauge.com, the app and scanner at app.cardgauge.com and scan.cardgauge.com, and CardGauge Business. By using CardGauge you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
CardGauge is operated from Florida, United States. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
π‘ Short version: Prices on CardGauge are estimates from marketplace data, not appraisals. Check them before you buy, sell or price anything. Your shop's data is yours and you can export it any time. Cancel whenever you like.
CardGauge identifies trading cards from photographs and estimates their value using recent completed sales from public marketplaces. It also provides tools for collectors to track a collection, and tools for card shops and breakers to run an inventory, price it, and manage breaks.
CardGauge is an information and workflow tool. It is not a marketplace, a broker, an auction house, a grading company, or a financial adviser. We do not buy, sell, hold, ship, authenticate or grade cards.
This is the most important section on this page. Please read it.
Prices are estimates, not appraisals. They are calculated from recent completed sales on public marketplaces. They can be wrong, out of date, or based on too few sales to be meaningful. They are not an offer to buy, a guarantee of resale value, or a professional valuation.
Card identification is automated and imperfect. CardGauge uses AI to read a photograph. It can misread a year, a card number, a parallel or a player, and the same card can be read differently on different scans. A misidentified card will be priced as the wrong card. Photograph quality, glare on shiny cards, and whether you captured the back all affect the result.
CardGauge flags results it is unsure about and shows where each price came from β completed sales, asking prices, or a sample too thin to rely on. Those flags exist to be read. A price shown without a flag is still an estimate.
You are responsible for your own pricing decisions. If you buy, sell, trade, grade, discount or price a card based on something CardGauge showed you, that decision is yours. We are not liable for money lost as a result β including a card sold below what it was worth, a card bought above it, or a collection valued incorrectly. Verify anything that matters before acting on it.
We do not guarantee that the service will be available without interruption, that data will be free of errors, or that any particular card, set or market will be covered.
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure, and for everything done through your CardGauge account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. CardGauge Business is intended for businesses and for people aged 18 or over.
One person, one account. Do not share sign-in codes or let others use your account. If you want colleagues to have access to a shop, invite them properly as staff.
For collectors. Unlocks the full binder and Profit Tracker. Per person.
For shops and breakers. Covers the whole shop including every staff member, and includes Pro for that staff. Per shop, not per person.
New shops get a free trial of CardGauge Business, currently two months from the day the shop is created. No payment details are required to start it. We will tell you before it ends.
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply where you are.
We may change prices. If we do, we will give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice by email, and the new price will apply from the next billing period after that notice.
You can cancel at any time. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not renewed after that. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
Payments are generally non-refundable, because you can try CardGauge Business free for two months before paying anything. If something has genuinely gone wrong β you were charged after cancelling, or charged twice β email us and we will sort it out.
Your shop's inventory, costs, prices and sales records belong to your shop. We do not sell them, share them with other shops, or use them to advertise to you. You can export everything to a CSV file at any time, including after a trial ends and after a subscription lapses. We will never withhold your own records to make you pay.
Anyone you invite as staff can see and change everything in your shop β inventory, costs, prices, sales and breaks. There are no partial permission levels at this time. Invite accordingly, and remove people who no longer work for you.
You are responsible for what your staff do in your shop's account, and for any information you enter about your customers.
If your trial or subscription ends, your shop becomes read-only. You keep access to your inventory, you can still search it, and Export CSV still works. Scanning, adding cards, editing and recording sales stop until you subscribe. We keep your data rather than deleting it, so nothing is lost if you come back.
Email us to have your shop and everything in it deleted. We will do it within 30 days and confirm when it is done. Export first if you want a copy β deletion is permanent.
Please do not:
Pricing data comes from third-party sources under their own terms. Your use of it through CardGauge is for running your own collection or business, not for redistribution.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.
CardGauge links to marketplaces including eBay and Amazon, and earns affiliate commission on some purchases made through those links at no extra cost to you. We do not control those sites, their listings, their prices, or what happens after you leave ours.
Card data and images come from public marketplace listings. Team names, player names, set names and logos belong to their respective owners. CardGauge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, The PokΓ©mon Company, eBay, PSA, any sports league, or any players' association.
CardGauge is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CardGauge is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost sales, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Some parts of CardGauge, including CardGauge Business, are marked as beta. Beta features are still being built and tested. They may change, break, or be withdrawn, and they may contain more errors than the rest of the service.
We publish a list of known limits alongside CardGauge Business rather than hiding them. Please read it before relying on the tool for anything that matters.
We may update these Terms. When we do we will change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes affecting paying subscribers we will give notice by email. Continuing to use CardGauge after a change means you accept it.
You can stop using CardGauge at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or if we stop offering the service β in which case we will give reasonable notice and time to export your data.
